The Kindly Man is only an alias- his real name is unknown. As a priest of the Faceless Men, the group of assassins that can change their faces, the Kindly Man has likely assumed many different identities in his lifetime. The Kindly Man is in charge of the House of Black and White, the headquarters of the Faceless Men, and is the only one there who speaks the language spoken in Westeros. After Book 3, Arya Stark leaves the company of the Hound and makes her way to Braavos, where she decides to train in the ways of the assassin. The Kindly Man shows his face to her as a skull and asks Arya to kiss him, which she does. His face then changes into that of a kind old man, earning his name. He then takes over Arya's training, and by the end of Book 5, she has made her first kill as a Faceless Man (or in this case, Faceless Girl). The Kindly Man will likely appear in 2 or 3 episodes- although a minor character, he is integral in the story of a very major character and thus will definitely appear in Season 5.
