8. Lord Commander Mormont
Lord Commander Jeor Mormont, The Old Bear, was another death from the series that had a huge impact on me. Having spent two and a half seasons getting to know the gruff, grizzled old commander of the Night's Watch and after everything he did for Jon Snow and his brothers, it was devastating to watch his shocking end at the hands of his traitorous recruits. The character was always a good and respectable man who tried to do his duty for the Watch and for the realm, but sadly he couldn't please everyone which made his death even more tragic. Though for all of the shock I felt at his death, I was pleased that he died fighting Rast and the rest of the traitors, not giving up until he literally couldn't fight anymore and finally keeled over. A great character that I was truly sad to see go. And now his watch is ended.
