Game Of Thrones: 10 Things We Learned From "Mockingbird"

3. Brienne And Podrick Run Into A Friend Of Arya€™s

After weeks on the road, Brienne and Podrick decide to treat themselves to a decent hot meal and feather bed at a tavern. While there, they meet Hot Pie, Arya€™s friend from the Harrenhal days. He€™s still working at the same inn that the Brotherhood sold him to, and he regales Podrick and Brienne about what it takes to make a good kidney pie. Noticing Brienne€™s armour, Hot Pie deduces they€™re from King€™s Landing and asks what they€™re doing in this area. Brienne states they€™re looking for someone, and when he presses her for more information, she gives Sansa Stark€™s name and physical description. Hot Pie nervously states no one like that has been around, but he€™s clearly hiding something. While packing their horses the next day, Podrick asks whether it€™s wise to be throwing Sansa€™s name around in public. Hot Pie then approaches and tells them that while he doesn€™t know Sansa, he knows Arya. He gives them the Sparknotes version of their previous adventures and that the last time he saw her, the Brotherhood was planning to ransom her and The Hound. Podrick figures that the Brotherhood will take her to her aunt Lysa in the Eyrie, especially since she hates the Lannisters. Brienne guesses that Sansa might be there as well. Coming across a fork in the road, they take the path leading towards the Vale. Although Brienne swore to Catelyn Stark that she would protect her daughters, until now Arya€™s been largely assumed dead, so Sansa has been the priority. Now that she knows Arya is alive, Brienne may be able to help both of the Stark daughters. Of course, there€™s sure to be danger along the way, and there€™s no guarantee that the girls will be there, but as with any search, at least they have somewhere to start looking. Of course, if she does make it to the Vale, she might be surprised by the recent goings-on there, as we€™ll learn in a bit. Also, that was a thoughtful gift Hot Pie gave to Brienne for Arya: another bread direwolf. It's in better shape than the last one, and prove one thing - the kid is talented, at least when baking bread is concerned.
