Game Of Thrones: 15 Upcoming Problems That Could Potentially Derail It

6. The Children Are Growing Up Faster Then Their Characters

Series creators Benioff and Weiss made a solid decision in making the youngest characters older than their book counterparts. While the show isn't afraid to push boundaries, having a thirteen year-old Daenarys Targaryen raped by Khal Drogo on her wedding night would have been a step too far. Jon Snow as a fourteen year old enduring the harsh perils of the Wall, or a nine-year old Arya killing her enemies with Needle would have been equally questionable. But the truth is, characters like Arya and Bran in particularly, are still supposed to be children and while the events of the TV show covers months, the reality is that maturing growth spurts will mean that the chances the show may run into the same trap that Lost faced with Malcolm David Kelley's Walt. Children maturing far quicker than the character is supposed to. Isaac Hempstead Wright's Bran already had a bit of a growth spurt between seasons two and three and the chances are both he and Maisie Williams are going to look far physically different by the time the final season rolls... assuming they make it that far (and they probably will). Thankfully there won't quite be the same issue with Jon, Sansa, and Dany. As for Joffrey... well that problem is going to resolve itself pretty soon...
