Game Of Thrones: 5 Winners & 5 Losers In 'First Of His Name'

4. Bran

Bran has had to grow up pretty fast as he faces new and unfathomable dangers beyond the Wall. He€™s beginning to comprehend the importance of his mission, even if it means going on by himself and leaving his companions behind. He doesn€™t want to believe it when Jojen tells him so in Craster€™s shed, but as Locke hauls him away, the silent exchange between he and Jojen suggests that he is ready to do what it takes to press on. As the fighting at Craster€™s Keep rages, Bran manages to free himself from Locke by possessing Hodor, and then sends Hodor to rescue the others. Bran is faced with a difficult choice: to reunite with his brother, Jon, or to flee the area and continue on his quest north. At first, Bran shouts Jon€™s name, desperate for his brother to hear him, but some wise counsel from Jojen makes him reconsider. The truth of the matter is that reuniting with Jon will bring an end to his venture north. As Jojen rightly predicts, Jon will force Bran to return with him to Castle Black, where he believes he will be safe. Bran now understands that his quest is more important than his desire to reunite with his family. As much as it pains him (and those of us desperate for a long overdue Stark reunion), Bran makes the adult choice and leaves without his brother ever knowing he was there.
