The phenomenal Season 4 finale ended the best season yet on a high, but it did raise a few questions, and no we don't mean "How long 'till Season 5 starts?" Thanks to a very major omission (Do NOT google it if you don't know!) this second omission kind of slipped by unnoticed. In the books when Tyrion is released from his cell, Jaime suddenly mentions Tyrion's first wife Tysha. If you cast your mind back to season one, Tyrion tells Bronn and Shae of his brief marriage when he was eighteen years old. He and Jaime were out horse riding when they see a woman (Tysha) being chased by rapists. As Jaime chases off the men, Tyrion comforts Tysha, takes her to a local tavern, has a few drinks and spends the night with her. Next morning a madly in love Tyrion proposes and she agrees to marry him. Unfortunately a few days later Jaime informs Tyrion that Tysha was in fact a whore that Jaime hired to take Tyrion's virginity for his eighteenth birthday. Tywin then forces Tyrion to watch as his wife is brought in and passed around by all of Tywin's servants and guards, in exchange for a silver coin per man. This, more than anything, is the reason why Tyrion hates his father so much. Back to the TV finale, Jaime releases Tyrion and before they say goodbye, Jaime confesses that Tysha was never a whore at all. That their love was real, and that Tywin, furious that Tyrion married a commoner, had Jamie make up a lie about staging the whole thing. This is what pushes Tyrion over the edge and convinces him to make a detour into his fathers chambers. And we all know how that turned out! The decision to remove the story of Tysha is confusing since they already established her existence in the first season. It's possible that they may go back to it during the later Seasons, but if that was the case wouldn't they want to remind us of it during Tyrion's last conversation with his father? The revelation is also the final push that gives Tyrion the killer instinct to finally murder Tywin. Without that story, it seemed like Tyrion just decided to go upstairs to Tywins' chambers and murder him for the hell of it. These are all the minor deviations that make our heads explode. As a wrestling fan I've flown across the Atlantic for the last five years specifically to attend WrestleMania (28 and 30) as well as TNA, ROH, Evolve, Chikara and most recently PWG.
I may have a problem!
But if you're reading my work then you probably love wrestling too, so lets focus on that!
