8. Bran And The Weirwood
Here we have Bran placing his hand on a weirwood tree with Hodor looking on. Ever since he was crippled by Jaime Lannister, he has been endowed with mysterious powers, warging and greenseeing among them. In season 4, he will be searching for the three-eyed raven beyond the wall. From this brief glimpse of him in the trailer, it looks like he may be communicating with the tree or something. What could this new power of his entail, and what does it have to do with the three-eyed raven?
7. Needle's Back!
Here we see Arya and what appears to be Needle, her custom sword. If you recall, Needle is one of Aryas most treasured possessions. It was given to her as a going away present from Jon Snow, who she was very close to. The last time we saw it was when it was taken from her at Harrenhal by a Lannister soldier named Polliver. Obviously this means she gets it back somehow. How she goes about doing this is just another reason to tune into season 4, but if it plays out like it does in the books, it should make for an awesome scene for the deadly princess of Winterfell.
6. Dany On A Throne
In this gorgeous shot, Daenerys looks like she will be sitting on a throne made of something other than iron. She has been talking about taking the Iron Throne for many seasons now, but Meereen is many times larger than either Astapor or Yunkai. She cant just leave. With a lack of any organized leadership, she will be forced fill that power vacuum or watch everything she fought for fall apart. Its one of Daeneryss most difficult decisions she has to make, and with her dragons continuing to grow bigger and more unruly, her ability to rule will be tested.
5. Tyrion In Chains
Tyrion is a fan favorite for obvious reasons. Hes extremely intelligent, quick-witted, and has a moral compass more inline with the modern day audience. We naturally root for him, so it can be quite disheartening to see him displayed in chains here. Tyrion has gotten out of a lot of tense situations, but what he faces in season 4 will be his greatest challenge. Without spoiling anything, know that what he is accused of is life-ruining and will alter the course of his story. What exactly is he accused of? Youll just have to watch season 4.
