Game Of Thrones: Season 4 Death Watch (The Lion And The Rose)

4. A Tribute To...

None other than King Joffrey himself. Jack Gleeson has delivered a stunning performance from the very first episode; we have never hated a child as much as we have the son of Cersei and Jaime Lannister and as satisfying as his death was, he will be sorely missed. Fellow Whatculure writer Edward Owen has already summed up Joffrey's 10 most 'slappable acts of dickery' so take a look and remember just why we've spent three years loving and hating this brat in equal measure!

3. Best Book-To-Screen Adaptation Of The Week

Fans of the novels had been looking forward to the 'Purple Wedding' almost as much as the 'Red Wedding' and it was done beautifully. Joffrey was at his very worst; Jack Gleeson gives it his all and if this is to be his final performance as an actor (if he does retire from acting as rumoured) then it's a mighty scene to go out on. With an incredibly unnerving, awkward build up, George RR Martin delivered a script every bit as excellent as the book he wrote.
