Game Of Thrones: Season 4 Death Watch (The Lion And The Rose)
6. Best Soundbite Of The Week
Yet again taking some of the best lines of the episode, we have the master of wit that is Tyrion Lannister. Dining with Jaime, Tyrion sums up his siblings and himself are with one iconic toast...
"To the Lannister children . The dwarf, the cripple and the mother of madness."
5. Charles Dance Versus...
Tywin Lannister - the man who commands the room, the man who rules his own family with an iron first and lets nothing oppose his beliefs and commands. Or at least, that's what we thought until Jaime so effectively put his father down last week by disobeying his orders and remaining in Kings Landing to head up the Kingsguard. This week, there was plenty to enjoy from Charles Dances' tyrannical head of the Lannister family, so how did he fare? 1) First up, gifts. Tyrion presented Joffrey with a book on his wedding day. Tywin gives his grandson a Valryrian steel sword. 1-0 to Tywin. 2) Scheming Varys shows a healthy dose of fear for the Hand of the king. The spider scared? 2-0 to Tywin. 3) Ollena versus Tywin, round two, but it's less a battle of wits and more the respectful banter of two powerful heads of family. A definite draw. 4) Oberyn gets some face to face time with Tywin. All smiles the Prince of Dorne might be, but with the comment "In other places the rape and murder of small children is considered distasteful", Oberyn knocks his rival down. Tywin however, smiles back and moves on. The verdict? 2-1 to Tywin. No-one is taking this man down this week.
