Ahead of the episode, as soon as it became clear that the Targaryen Alliance would be bringing a wight to King's Landing, the idea of how Qyburn would react became immediately very pertinent. He is a curious mind personified of course, and he is committed to pushing the limits of respectable science to his mistress' higher agenda for power.

And as soon as he clapped eyes on the Hellish creature, he was in love. He has plans for that wight, and don't be surprised if he doesn't appear next season with a couple of wights of his own that he's bred to be Cersei's pets.

When the wight appeared, everyone was terrified, but Westeros' resident Dr Frankenstein was positively aroused. If you weren't certain he was going to do all he could to experiment on the wight, you'd be forgiven for thinking that he might have slightly more sordid plans for that amputated hand...
