Games Of Thrones Season 7: What 'Beyond The Wall' Really Means

7. Brienne Is Going To Meet Jaime Again

Game Thrones Beyond Wall Sansa Brienne
HBO

No doubt prompted by Littlefinger, Cersei sent a letter up to Sansa inviting her for a meeting in King's Landing just as she's at her most vulnerable (with Jon gone, Bran mentally unhinged and Arya murderous). And while Sansa has expressed her admiration for the Queen - "she taught her everything" after all - she's still clearly terrified of her, and isn't stupid enough to forget that she's a major threat to her.

Instead, she's sending Brienne - her last line of defence against Littlefinger (who Brienne recognises for the sh*t he is) - which means we're going to see a reunion between the knight and Jaime Lannister.

Now, it's not nice to want anyone to be romantically disappointed, but Brienne and Tormund are destined to be together, so we're going to have to all hope that Brienne learns that Jaime and Cersei are really, REALLY close while she's in King's Landing, to nip her affections for him in the bud. Then she can not only concentrate on getting used to Tormund's rougher charisma, but also on not having her head removed by Cersei when she learns of her and Jaime's chemistry.

There is a very real sense of dread hanging over Brienne's trip South, but it hopefully just means that whatever Cersei's trap will be at the Dragonpit will give her a chance to fight with Lannister forces alongside Jon. Unless she fights Bronn, in which case there is literally no way of choosing a winner.
