Games Of Thrones Season 7: What 'Beyond The Wall' Really Means

12. Cersei Will Have A Trap Set

As well as the machinations going on at Winterfell and in the deep freeze of the far North, we got to see some of what was happening at Dragonstone as Dany wondered about the strategy of talking to Cersei rather than burning her head off with a dragon.

In this exchange we got to see exactly why Dany values Tyrion's advice and why he remains her Hand - she says she trusts him implicitly because he's not a hero who goes rushing off after blood runs to his head or his codpiece. He's measured and intelligent and he prefers less impulsive behaviour.

This is all well and good, but being impulsive has helped Dany and proved Tyrion to be entirely wrong, but at least we got to see the confirmation that they are friends. In honesty, a lot of this came down to foreshadowing Dany making a Bad Decision for the right reason once again (sending the dragons North), but it worked nicely.

Crucially, this conversation also confirmed that Tyrion knows his sister will have set a trap for when they meet up to discuss a truce, which is precisely the fear we should all have. Wildfire under the Dragonpit and all that, or a well-placed instruction to Ser Gregor to start popping heads or something...

At least we know they're prepared. Or as prepared as one can be with Cersei.
