Glee: 10 Episodes EVERY Fan Should Have Seen
9. Never Been Kissed
Inclusivity has always been one of the key messages of Glee. Rachel often says "being a part of something special makes you special" and Glee has always played into those ideas, particularly when it came to the subject of bullying.
Never Been Kissed showed us the horrors of bullying through two key characters, Kurt Hummel and Coach Beiste. Kurt is being harassed daily by school bully Dave Karofsky, while Beiste is facing ridicule from members of the Glee club.
What makes Never Been Kissed so special is that it manages to progress the story of the season forward while also delivering a hard hitting message at the end. Kurt eventually transfers to the Dalton Academy to start afresh. This is where we are first introduced to the wonderful Blaine, who becomes a series regular.
This episode in particular manages to juggle so many elements that the episode feels both weighty and fun. There are terrific performances of "Teenage Dream" and an underrated Bon Jovi/En Vogue mash up. Never Been Kissed remains a standout episode of the shows second season.
