Good Omens - Ranking Every Episode Worst To Best
3. Episode Five - The Doomsday Option
David Tennant puts in a fantastic performance as Crowley all throughout this series, but episode five truly is his (and Freddie Mercury's). He has found himself with no side, all alone, and his best friend gone, all to the perfectly fitting Best Friend and Somebody To Love by Queen. The emotion shown is something that no demon should ever do, which is the point. He is not a proper demon.
As we close in on the conclusion of the series, the lines between angels and demons, and good and evil are becoming blurred. Crowley shows his soft side, Aziraphale possesses Madame Tracey as a demon would, and both the angels and demons are as hungry for war as each other. All except for Crowley and Aziraphale.
If not for Tennant however, the best performance of the episode would be Miranda Richardson. During Madame Tracey's seance, her commitment to changing into both Johnny Vegas and Michael Sheen is simply incredible, and certainly one of the highlights of the episode.
Before every main character assembles for the finale at Tadfield Air Base, we get even more Queen and the M25 aflame all around London. This again gives Crowley a chance to show what he would do to save the world, driving through the fire in his beloved car with no regard for the consequences.
