Beyond the classic Batman: The Animated Series, the influential crime boss hasn't frequently appeared in media outside the comics. With Gotham's interest in exploring the politics of the city, Thorne would be a solid addition in fleshing out the constant power struggle that so often threatens to tear the city apart. As a city councilman and leader of one of Gotham's major gangs, Thorne could take the show's exploration of corruption in a more public avenue, perhaps gunning - literally and figuratively - to get someone deep in his pocket into the mayoral position, with Gordon doing his best to bring him down before he can get a solid hold on the city. With characters like Falcone and Maroni on the scene, it seems only fair that Thorne gets a shot at some live action glory after decades of waiting in the wings, and Gotham is as good a platform as any to give it to him.
