Gotham: 10 Future Villains We Want To See

5. Floyd Lawton

Deadshot has already made live-action appearances in Smallville and Arrow, but that doesn't stop us from wanting to see Gotham's take on the character. With Penguin's insistence that a war is coming to Gotham and the various criminal families all at odds with one another, it wouldn't surprise us in the least if a young version of the bragging assassin were to show up with a list of names needing to be crossed off. That said, bringing an established Deadshot into the series before Batman's arrival would be at odds with the character's original history, wherein Lawton became Deadshot in order to take Batman's place (not that such adherence to the source seems to be of concern to those behind the show). As such, Gotham could easily move away from his previous live-action incarnations in exploring his origins as a son who accidentally takes his brother's life with a rifle shot instead of their abusive father. Lawton's entire character is thus built from this moment, as the guilt over his brother's death causes him to be indifferent to his own life and instills in him the desire to never miss another shot. Though Lawton's story wouldn't really require Gordon's involvement, it could easily be a fascinating trip down a narrative alley that would help color Gotham City as a place where good people can be forever changed even without the absence of crime while giving audiences a live-action look at Deadshot that stands out from the pack.
