Long before he would become known as Black Mask, a young Roman Sionis grew up caught in the same social circles as Bruce Wayne. Unlike Bruce, however, Sionis hated the superficiality of his parents, both of whom would frequently put their desires to move up the social ladder over their own son despite the fact they themselves loathed everyone else, the Waynes included. Sionis' parents would go on to die in a fire, leaving behind a cosmetics company that he would eventually crash and burn in his adult life before going crazy and donning his infamous mask after Wayne Industries bought it out. Though we don't expect the show to go that far, particularly due to his putting on of the mask and the permanent manner in which it ends up on him taking place when Batman is in Gotham, the inclusion of a young Sionis and his parents during glimpses of the city's socialite affairs would be a great touch that wouldn't have to feel shoehorned in. Even further, the show would earn bonus points if, at some point during its run, Sionis' parents are killed in a fire just like their comic counterparts and the table is set for his fall and rebirth as Black Mask.
