Gotham: 10 Things We Learned From The New Trailer

2. Gotham€™s On The Brink Of War

€œThere€™s a war coming, a terrible war. There will be chaos, rivers of blood in the streets €“ I know it!€ Cobblepot isn€™t delivering Gordon with an empty threat. It€™s a prophecy, a guarantee that Gotham€™s downfall has arrived. There€™s a storm coming, the death of the Waynes has sparked a series of unfortunate events that will lead to utter chaos. Torn apart by corruption, the police will ultimately fall and allow the streets to get overrun, leaving Gordon and Bullock as the last surviving decent cops to stand for justice. Not many people are aware that Jim Gordon has a military background. Bullock briefly mentions it, telling him the war on Gotham€™s streets is no different from his past service. Little did Gordon know just how right Bullock is, as Gotham is described as going to hell and cursed at the beginning of the trailer. That is exactly what Jim Gordon inherits - a task that is doomed to fail, but like any good soldier, we know he€™s going to stand and fight to the end. As viewers we know how deep Gotham€™s corruption runs and can only stand by and watch helplessly as chaos descends upon the innocent.
