Like Edward Nygma, Harvey Dent is another classic Batman villain we've already seen introduced in Gotham albeit in his pre-villainy form. The tragic arc of eventual Gotham District Attorney Dent is well known to fans of the Christopher Nolan films, where Aaron Eckhart memorably brought him to life as a brave public hero who goes mad after losing his love, being screwed over by the ineffective legal system and (probably most crucially) having half his face burnt off. Gotham, meanwhile, is set before all that, and with a much different actor in the role. Harvey Dent was introduced as an Assistant District Attorney, in a season episode named after him. Much like in the Dark Knight, he comes to Jim Gordon's attention thanks to being one of the few non-corrupt lawyers in Gotham City, being tasked to help with investigating the Wayne murders. There hasn't been much of a hint at Dent's future in the show so far, besides a confrontation with criminal Dick Lovecraft where he got all antsy, aggressive, and almost lash out. That's still a step in the direction of his future as Two-Face, which may well crop up in the second season. The acid-burnt face might not make an appearance, but you could easily bring in the whole dual-personality thing. Or at least more coin flipping...
