Renee Montoya could easily fill the role of one of Gordon's pals, what with her and partner Crispus Allen of the Major Crimes Unit apparently not playing ball with the rest of the corrupt GCPD either. Despite an early combative relationship, Montoya and Gordon were getting on fine towards the end of the season...besides sleeping with his fiancee. Anyway, since Barbara was revealed as a bit of a Fruit Loop and she got locked up, there's no reason they shouldn't be friends! And the show should really make more use of Victoria Cartagena and her character, because despite technically being part of the main cast she has appeared less often than guest stars like Salvatore Maroni. Expanding Montoya's role would allow the writers to draw on the character's numerous classic comic book story lines, including the dozens featured in the Gotham Central series (which the TV show draws on). Especially considering one of her most famous involves the unwanted attentions of one Harvey Dent...
