Gotham Season 5: 3 Ups & 2 Downs From Trespassers

2. Ivy's Resurgence

while much of Trespassers centres around the GCPD's attempt at rescuing the exploited working children, it's the episode's sub-arc that proves to be much more interesting. After learning of a powerful entity known as the witch in last week's premiere, Bruce decides to pay this mystical being a visit, in the hopes that she can heal Selina. What he doesn't bargain for is that the witch is actually a former friend of his. Yep, it's Ivy Pepper - or perhaps Poison Ivy would be more appropriate, given that her transformation into her comic counterpart is now complete.

Gotham certainly hasn't shied away from the darker elements of the famous character, as the show's iteration of Ivy is nothing short of terrifying. Unafraid of killing those who harm her or her beloved plants, Ivy undoubtedly has the ability to become one of the most powerful beings on the show, and the post-apocalyptic city is allowing her to become stronger.

While the previous actress to have played the character, Maggie Geha, was pretty damn perfect, Peyton List is proving to be equally as compelling. Hopefully this isn't the last we'll see of Ivy because, even with the end nigh, there's still a lot that can be done with the character.
