Gotham Season 5: 4 Major Questions After 'Penguin, Our Hero'

While there was a lot of seriousness involved in Penguin, Our Hero, there were plenty of humorous moments too - most of which occurred during Oswald and Gordon's time together in a jail cell. In spite of the Penguin's big plan to take over Haven and put a stop to Jim Gordon, the former mayor of Gotham ended up working alongside the detective, as the two shared a common enemy in this unruly biker gang.

Together, the pair managed to save the sanctuary, and as a result, Oswald found himself being cheered on by the residents - he was a hero to them, just like the episode's title implied. It's simply too early to tell whether the unlikely allies will remain friends - or if they'll continue to work together - but keep in mind that we know they will cross paths again at some point in the future.

The flash-forward - which we saw in the season premiere - demonstrated a team-up between Gordon, Oswald and Edward Nygma, as the three characters defended Gotham from an unknown antagonist.
