Gotham Season 5: 4 Major Questions After 'Penguin, Our Hero'
1. Who Blew Up Haven?
As this list has demonstrated, Penguin, Our Hero left viewers with quite a few questions, but the biggest of them all undoubtedly came at the very end of the episode. As Gordon tried to convince Barbara that shooting Penguin was not the answer, his sanctuary exploded before his very eyes - a blast which likely killed all of the people he'd rescued over the past few episodes.
It was an extremely upsetting scene, made all the more upsetting by the fact that the GCPD officer had only just left the building himself after speaking to one of the young refugees. The destruction and devastation here will have a lasting impact on the few people left behind in the city. Haven was a symbol of hope, and whoever blew up the complex wanted to exterminate that hope.
We know that it wasn't Oswald or Barbara, and considering Ed is somewhat currently indisposed, it likely wasn't him either. However, we know that Jeremiah Valeska rears his pretty little head in next week's instalment, so it's very possible that the crazed clown was behind this explosion.
If this proves to be the case, then it insinuates that Jeremiah still has dastardly plans for the city - plans that will likely play a key role in Batman's arrival, later down the line.
