Gotham Season 5 Premiere: 7 Major Questions We Have After Year Zero
4. Who Shot Down The Helicopter?
As stated in the previous entry, the people of the government have well and truly washed their hands of those left behind in Gotham, refusing to send in help to save the city. The supply shortage was made worse when the Scarecrow's gang stole both medicinal and food stock from the hospital and the GCPD, leaving Gordon with next to no food for the homeless people of Gotham.
Afraid that Selina would be without the care that she needs, Bruce orchestrated an illegal overseas delivery so that the city would be stocked up for another couple of weeks. While everyone got what they needed from the delivery, we can't ignore the fact that the helicopter was shot down mid-flight. Oswald was adamant that he had nothing to do with it, which begs the question of who really was responsible for the horrifying incident?
Had it been Oswald, he would've undoubtedly been proud of committing such a dastardly deed - so much so that he would have sang about it from the rooftops - so his denial of the crime rules him out as a suspect. Ed Nygma is unlikely the assailant either - that is unless he really has been getting up to no good during his blackouts.
Other possible suspects include Mr. Freeze and Firefly - both of whom are still roaming the city. Jeremiah Valeska and Ecco are still on the loose too, so really any one of these colourful characters could've shot down the chopper.
