Green Arrow And The Canaries: 7 Things That Must Happen

5. NO Felicity

Years ago, when fans envisioned the perfect Arrowverse Birds of Prey series, they imagined the likes of Laurel's Black Canary, Speedy, Sara's White Canary, Huntress and Nyssa Al Ghul leading the pack, while many of them also imagined Felicity playing the Oracle role - and why wouldn't they, as she had adopted so many of the comic book legend's traits? However, times have changed.

Following the disaster that was Season 4, the character just hasn't been the same lovable and empowering person she was in those initial two seasons and, quite frankly, it's hard to look at her without thinking of the selfish caricature she became in those dark days. And that in itself highlights one of Arrow's major recurring issues - it can't help itself when Felicity's on-screen. Whenever she's featured, the writers run away with her and stretch her beyond the limits of which she was designed, ramming her down fans' throats in the process.

With Arrow ending, the Arrowverse has a chance to move on from the divisive character once and for all. It's a chance for the writers to finally leave the mistakes of that character in the past and give the focus back to the show's strongest and best-developed characters - characters who were designed with less limitations.

We'll never forget all the brilliance that Felicity Smoak has given us (especially in her first two wonderful years), but it really is time to let her go.
