Will Graham has not been depicted as a guy who has it together. He lives alone, routinely wakes up in a cold sweat and has a habit of picking up stray dogs from the side of the road on one of his many sleep walks. It's not a stretch to imagine he's going to find life tough in the Baltimore State Hospital for the Criminally Insane. We as an audience know that Will is innocent, he has been framed spectacularly by Hannibal, but from what glimpses NBC have released, it seems as though everyone is convinced that he's the Chesapeake Ripper. The fact that Will himself seems unsure of just what he gets up to when he's unconscious isn't helping his plight. Will's sojourn in the Insane Asylum will not be helped by Dr. Chilton, administrator of Baltimore State Hospital, who seems only out for himself and to make some money from his famous inmates. He also convinced the incarcerated Dr. Abel Gideon that he was the Chesapeake ripper. Chilton will undoubtedly have a role to play in just how uncomfortable Will's stay is behind glass after all, Gideon removed a good chunk of his vital organs in revenge for programming him into thinking he was the Ripper, so can you imagine what he's going to do now he's found the guy at the root of his (admittedly self-inflicted) misery? Though we will find Will Graham firmly locked up down that famous corridor for the first part of the season, it has already been confirmed by Bryan Fuller that the season is almost split into two, both thematically and plot-wise, meaning that we will likely see Will out of Baltimore State by episode 7. This leads to further questions regarding just who will replace him will Hannibal find someone to take the fall? Apparently Gideon's somehow back (despite being shot at point blank and being seemingly dead), but with all that new suspicion and a momentary lack of a new patsy, the walls could be closing in on Dr. Lecter very soon. Whatever happens, expect fireworks, and lavishly presented ones at that.
