2. Hannibal's Escape

Hannibal can't stay behind bars forever, there's a whole world out there for him to see. Hannibal's escape from the Baltimore Hospital for the Criminally Insane is arguably the best moment in the entire saga: it is terrifying, exhilarating, and intelligent all at once. But the most noteworthy aspect of his escape is how earned it feels. It is staged wonderfully as Hannibal requests a move to a lower security prison and sneakily requires and uses a lock pick. Unlike Red Dragon's big moment, its doubtful Hannibal's escape will see many changes. It will be built up to just as well as it was in the book and film, perhaps over multiple episodes and not just one. And it should be just as brutal as it was in the film. After his performance in the season two finale as well as Casino Royale, Mads Mikkelsen has proved he can bring physicality to a scene if it's needed.
