3. Clarice Starling And Buffalo Bill

The hunt for Buffalo Bill, led by Clarice Starling and aided by the imprisoned Dr. Lecter, would make for an incredible arc on Hannibal. The Silence of the Lambs put Hannibal on the map, so naturally it should be adapted for the show. Because the show has much more time on its hands than a film, it could dive deeper into Silence of the Lambs' leads than ever before. The show could examine Clarice's early days at the academy, and for the first time the audience could see her interact with Will Graham. As for Gumb, his past and motivations will be explored, and we may learn how he became the way he is. Now when it comes to dream casting the roles, Jessica Chastain as Clarice would be perfect, while Game of Thrones' Michael McElhatton is both unsuspecting and terrifying enough to haunt as Buffalo Bill. Unfortunately, the likelihood of their appearance is growing slimmer. MGM owns the rights to the Silence of the Lambs, and they don't seem too eager to give them up. But fear not Fannibals; Bryan Fuller still believes he can persuade MGM to sell NBC the rights. And if they can't get those rights, Fuller claims they'll adapt the characters in their own unique way, even if that means introducing characters named "Schmarlice Schmarling" and "Schmuffalo Schmill."
