Harry Potter: 10 Book Moments Every Fan Wants In A TV Adaptation

1. Hagrid’s Tale – The Order Of The Phoenix

In The Order of the Phoenix, Hagrid arrives at Hogwarts several months late. Naturally, Harry, Ron and Hermione rush down to his cabin the moment he returns to greet their friend and ask him where he’s been.

The story that follows makes for fascinating reading. Hagrid recounts how he and Madame Maxime (the headmistress of Beauxbatons) journeyed into the mountains with the hope of recruiting giants for Dumbledore’s cause against Voldemort.

The giants’ culture is something that has never been discussed up until this point, so Hagrid’s story carries plenty of intrigue. He describes the giants’ hideout, their fascination with magic, the structure of their societies, and their unhelpful tendency to fight one another.

In the context of a TV show, Hagrid’s tale could be translated into a lengthy flashback sequence involving all the various story beats of his adventures with the giants. And given the mountainous surroundings of the giants’ homeland, there would also be plenty of opportunities for some spectacular vistas as well.
