Harry Potter TV Show: 13 Changes To The Originals They Should Make

1. Cut The Time Travel

And finally, the one thing from the books that the TV show has absolutely got to ditch is the time travel.

It's telling that The Order of the Phoenix depicted all of the time turners being destroyed in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries. Clearly, JK Rowling realized they'd created too many plot holes, but honestly, introducing this plot element was a mistake in the first place.

It was ridiculous that Hermione was given a time turner just so that she could take a few extra classes, and furthermore, while the third book's climax just about worked in the book, it was considerably weaker in the film and made for a disappointing end to an otherwise great movie.

The only other time that time travel returned, was in the Cursed Child stage show, and in that it was appallingly handled. Hopefully, this ill-judged plot device will finally be excised from the story come the story when the TV show rolls around.
