Harry Potter TV Show: 13 Changes To The Originals They Should Make

9. Get Rid Of The Forbidden Forest Detentions

JK Rowling herself probably wishes she'd written this differently.

The scenes in the Forbidden Forest in the first book/film are terrific, but the idea of schoolchildren being sent to do detention in a place where they easily could've been killed, is damn-near impossible to buy. Well, perhaps this would've happened during the time when Umbridge or Snape and the Death Eaters controlled the school, but under Dumbledore? Never.

And let's not forget, detentions in the Forbidden Forest were never depicted again, which is perhaps indicative of Rowling realizing she'd made a mistake here. The TV show should definitely find a different way of getting the kids into the Forbidden Forest. Perhaps they could encounter the hooded figure in the woods while sending Norbert the dragon to Romania, for example.
