Harry Potter TV Show: 13 Changes To The Originals They Should Make

8. Rework The First Book's Climax

Remus Lupin Harry Potter

The first two Harry Potter films were far too faithful to the books, especially the first one, and this really came through in the climax, where Harry, Ron and Hermione navigate a series of obstacles protecting the Philosopher's Stone. The film left out a couple of the obstacles but kept in all of the others, and unfortunately, they just didn't translate to the screen very well.

This finale was great in the book, but a more psychological series of obstacles like these definitely worked better on the page than on the screen, and the first series of the show should definitely rework this entire ending to include obstacles that translate better on a cinematic level.

After all, watching the first film back now, the climax (aside from the final confrontation with Voldemort) doesn't work that well.
