11. The LARPers
In episode two of Hawkeye, Clint had to hilariously join in a Live Action Role Playing game in order to get the Ronin suit back from Grills. The irony that it was the grumpiest man in the MCU having to play with fake swords was wonderful, but the LARPers' role didn’t stop there.
Grills was arguably the main character out of them. He couldn’t have been more different from the source material, but his commitment to his hobby, and fast friendship with Kate and Clint were fun if limited in the timeframe of the series. By Grills’ side were Missy, the Viking who wouldn’t let Clint into the LARP without obeying the rules, despite being an Avenger, Wendy, the cop who got the trick arrows back, and Orville, who with the others helped at the Bishop Holiday Party.
Their crowning glory wasn’t designing the new costumes of an Avenger and an all but guaranteed future Avenger, it was joining the fight against the Tracksuit Mafia, fully clad in their LARPing gear. Despite the fact that they were cops and fire fighters, they wouldn’t have had it any other way.
Ultimately however, as cool as they all seemed, they didn’t have too much effect on the series as a whole.
