Hawkeye TV Show: 6 Things It Must Include
5. Include Mockingbird
Jim McCann and David Lopez have been at the helm of Hawkeye & Mockingbird in comic format since 2010, to almost universal acclaim. For comic fans, she’s such an integral part of Hawkeye’s story it seems unthinkable that she’d not feature in some capacity. Considering Hawkeye’s family has already appeared, their arc as lovers would probably be removed but this former SHIELD agent has a lot more strings to her bow.
To stop any confusion that metaphor may have created, Mockingbird is not an archer. She typically uses hand-to-hand combat armed with a baton, with some versions seeing her imbued with super strength and agility after being injected with Captain America’s serum.
Adrianne Palicki portrayed the character in another Marvel show (Agents Of SHIELD), although whether she’d return is up for debate. She played the role during seasons 2 & 3, though never really shone and the character ended up leaving SHIELD for good. You feel there wouldn’t be an uproar if Marvel announced Mockingbird would be present in Hawkeye played by somebody else.
She could be a key player in Hawkeye’s TV success so Marvel would want the best person for the job.
