4. Brody Should Run His Hero Card Dry
How should he go about keeping his allegiance to Nazir? If we're going into specifics, playing the hero card then getting a royal flush from it would make Brody's character all the more glorious. The best part is: you know Brody is going to revel in it. Brody was a loyal American before the whole fiasco - his reason for turning remains a little dull - so what better honor could a U.S. Marine Sergeant ask for than to be a well-trusted friend to the man who would be President. The deeper he gets into politics, the more interesting his story will become. Brody's rise to power would continue to give him more dimension. As a war hero, a terrorist, a martyr, and a traitor, it's surprising that his character hasn't reached a point of being critically dismissed or unfocused - a nod at how well written he is. Viewers thoroughly enjoy stories about coming from nothing and rising a hero. As clichè as these are, they work every time and significantly so. Nicholas Brody is no exception. Keep playing that hero card Brody, we love it.
