Homeland: 5 Directions We're Hoping Season 2 Will Go

The second season of Homeland premieres in just a few weeks. Here are our hopes, worries, and most importantly, ideas that Homeland should take into consideration.

With the second season of Homeland premiering in less than a month, the anticipation is excruciating. Not because of any cliffhangers viewers were left with after the first season, but because of the uncertainty of where this critically acclaimed series will go. With the Primetime Emmy Awards fast approaching - and a high chance of nabbing at least some of them - Homeland could easily retain its acclaim or ruin it. As the story continues off from a full circle of events, here are 5 directions that the creators should take note of. Yes filming has wrapped up, but let's just play along. "It's happening, exactly what you said. He's out there playing the card."

5. Brody Should Continue Working For Nazir

With television, progress is arguably the most important factor in retaining an audience. Time and time again a show is cancelled because little to nothing happens with each passing episode. The reason serial dramas work so well is because the story is different every time even if the process to get through the story is the same. With series that rely on an overarching story such as Homeland, progress is the best gift to give. And give it they did. The first season went by remarkably smooth while unraveling every bit of information any other series would only give in the season finale. It came with a a cost though. Now that the audience knows what the whole premise promised to reveal, the show has gone into a state of just plain uncertainty. The obvious plot stirrer would be Brody switching sides once again, but to what avail? If this series is to stay for some time, Brody switching back and forth would be ridiculous as it would only turn off viewers and do his character injustice. The best possible solution is to have Brody continue working for Nazir for the entire length of the second season. We need a black and white no matter how crazy the resulting shades become. This will give the viewers time to adjust to the new "evil" Brody and to give consistency to his character.
