Homeland: 5 Directions We're Hoping Season 2 Will Go

1. Carrie Should Stop Being The Crazy Girl No One Trusts

As the character most likely to nab an Emmy, Carrie is the one who will make or break this season. Claire Danes was impossibly captivating with her portrayal and milked every word off of the script dry. That being said, Carrie is the most difficult character to write due to her reception of course, but also due to her instability. A character like Carrie can easily rely on her craziness to get her where she wants to go, but that can only get so far without becoming stale and expected. Already with the season finale of the first season, she exhibited a sort of agitation that was not welcome. It was nowhere near annoying, but something was there that made her character...one note. Of course she underwent electroconvulsive therapy to rid herself of these "demons", but chances are, her crazy will come back. If that is indeed the case, it needs to be kept low. Yes it will make Carrie more interesting, but a little goes a long way. More importantly, Saul and Estes must not turn their back on her. Under no circumstances can Carrie continuously be left in the dust. It's happened way too much already in the first season and it can't happen again, not unless it's really warranted. In order for Carrie to grow this season, she needs trust more than anything else. The second season of Homeland will premiere on September 30, 2012 on Showtime.
