Homeland: 5 Directions We're Hoping Season 2 Will Go

2. Dana Should Discover Her Father's Secret

Someone has to do it. It can't be just Carrie running around trying to plead with the entire CIA that she's right. Not only does that get frustrating, but nothing seems to happen when only one person carries the secret. It also has to be someone with some significance to the plot or character development and someone who has a relationship with both protagonists. Someone like Dana. Dana is the only one who knows something is up with her father. A "crazy lady" even barged into her house insisting that her father was a terrorist and will kill everyone in the chamber. She didn't believe her of course, but she was worried nonetheless. That worry could take Dana a long way. Not only will Dana become an integral character if she discovers the truth, she'll be someone that viewers will actually cheer for, care for, worry for. While Carrie is running around trying to expose Brody, Dana would make her own investigations with the safety of being Brody's daughter, the one who pulled him out of the suicide. Dana is perfect also because she would have a dichotomy with both Brody and Carrie: she idolizes her father, yet fears him and at the same time she despises Carrie, yet finally understands her. The possibilities are endless.
