Last season, Thomas Yates stirred up some awkwardness with the Underwoods and hes back at it again this season. It seemed like a strange move to bring the author on as their personal speechwriter, but it feels like Frank and Claire want him around for other reason. Very quickly, Yates falls back into his flirtatious ways with Claire, and its clear he has an effect on her that few people do. It doesnt take too long for Yates and Claire wind up in bed together, but their relationship gets much more complex in very short time
