House Of Cards Season 6 Review: 2 Ups & 6 Downs
Ups...
2. Robin Wright's Impressive Performance
As sloppy and inconsistent as the season is, the one constant that works throughout is Robin Wright, who gives another splendidly icy performance as Claire Underwood - or rather, Claire Hale - that the show as written clearly doesn't deserve.
It's a damn shame that Wright doesn't have stronger material to work with, but she tries her damnedest to make it convincing, and she at least retains that magnetically captivating quality that has made her such an entrancing female lead in the previous seasons.
She effortlessly takes the reins from Spacey, and had the writing been better, there's no doubt Wright certainly could've carried the show on her own shoulders.
