House Of The Dragon: Breaking Down Each Announced Cast Member
6. Paddy Considine As Viserys Targaryen
Paddy Considine is one of the most talented individuals in the entire cast. A fearless actor and skilled filmmaker in his own right, Considine has the capabilities to be an incredible leading man on House of the Dragon.
From Edgar Wright comedies such as Hot Fuzz and The World's End to grittier dark roles in Peaky Blinders and Dead Man's Shoes, Considine is incredibly versatile. He is gifted behind the camera as well having directed the challenging dramas Tyrannosaur and Journeyman. Most recently he was on another HBO show The Outsider, in which he fell victim to a supernatural force.
As high calibre a casting as he is, he was notably absent from HBO's official photo release which begs the question if he'll be as important as originally believed.
Playing King Viserys Targaryen, HBO have described the character as a kind and good man and he appears to be somewhat of a Ned Stark figure for this coming season. His reign has gone largely untested and rules over the Seven Kingdoms peacefully, that will surely change when the show begins. Robert Baratheon lasted until episode seven of Game of Thrones' first season, let's see if Viserys can do any better.
