House Of The Dragon: Everything We Know So Far

There was one big fundamental problem with Game of Thrones, and that was that it overtook the source material. By the end of season five, Benioff and Weiss had told the majority of the story George R. R. Martin had in the books so far, and were forced to continue in their own direction.

If certain reports are to be believed, the author of the Song of Ice and Fire book series was disappointed with the show's direction ever since. Even before the final season. However, the same cannot be said about his views on House of the Dragon.

Speaking through his own 'Not A Blog' platform, Martin confirmed that he has seen a rough cut of the new show's first episode, and loved it. Describing it as dark, powerful, and visceral, it sounds as though fans have every reason to be excited for when the show does drop later this year.

Normally, the author of a book being made into a TV show wouldn't exactly be the greatest source of non-biased opinion, and that is probably the same in this case as well, but after the sh*tshow that was Game of Throne's final season, we'll take anything positive we can get.
