How Better Call Saul Season 4 Ending Connects To Breaking Bad

5. Mike The Enforcer

Better Call Saul Mike
AMC

Mike has murdered many a person before now. He's an enforcer, it's what he does and what we expect of him - but his killing of Werner felt different.

Mike was given no other choice by Gus other than to kill the runaway lab boss, and you can sense the regret he feels at having to do it, but you also feel him growing colder too. This is the life he's chosen, and in committing this cold, brutal murder of a decent person who just wanted to see his wife, he's now fully crossed over to Gus' side.

He's never been as far away from the Mike in Breaking Bad as Jimmy is Saul, but there are subtle differences that this episode more definitively eradicates.
