How Better Call Saul Season 4 Ending Connects To Breaking Bad

2. Kim's Reaction

Better Call Saul Jimmy Kim

The worst thing about Jimmy's transformation is Kim's reaction. While she's initially jubilant over what they've done, that turns to shock and sadness when she discovers Jimmy was lying.

As if that's not bad enough, though, there's the second blow when he says he'll be working under a pseudonym, and brushes her question off with the "It's all good, man" line.

That reaction, and her face, is absolutely crushing. Their relationship has been coming apart at the seams for a while now - including the incredible cold open to episode 7 - but this might be the final nail in the coffin, or at the very least the beginning of the end.

Kim's always been someone we've worried about, because she's not in Breaking Bad, and while there's more to come this is the start of removing her from Jimmy/Saul's life. Hopefully there's nothing more tragic to it, but you suspect there will be given how the show has gone so far.
