9. Inviting Tony To His And Stella's Wedding
It absolutely sucks that Stella left Ted at the altar, but really he kinda played himself here.
Despite Stella's vocal reservations, Ted insisted on his ex Robin coming to their wedding. Deciding to even the score, good old Ted E. Mosby invited Stella's ex (and father of her young child) Tony to the ceremony too, with disastrous consequences.
Ted may have meant well (though it is just as likely Tony's presence provided the ideal smokescreen for just how weird it was that Robin was attending), but failed to consider that Stella just might have lingering feelings for the sensei.
What's more, it's hard to feel too sorry for Ted here. Apparently forgetting just how heartbroken he was to be left at the altar, a few seasons down the line he is more than happy to run away with Victoria, aiding her escape from Klaus on her own wedding day. In his own romantic Playbook, there's one rule for Ted, apparently, another for everybody else.
