How I Met Your Mother: 10 Craziest Things Ted Did For Love

2. The Two Minute Date

Falling madly and instantly in love with his dermatologist (because every man dreams of meeting his future wife as she removes his butterfly "tramp stamp" tattoo), Ted pressures Stella to date him, despite her insistence that between her job and her young daughter she simply didn't have the time.

Not taking no for an answer (a classic Schmosby trait), Ted decides to set up a "Two Minute Date" with Stella, distilling all the highlights of a Ted Mosby date into her ridiculously limited two minute lunch break.

Admittedly, the execution is quite cute, with Ted managing to stuff a taxi ride, quick lunch, movie, romantic walk, dessert and a kiss into an adorable one hundred and twenty seconds, with the pair even doing a fair bit of getting to know each other without any of the "lengthy awkward silences" that are usually part and parcel of any first date.

However, the Two Minute Date is yet another example of Ted taking things a bit too far in places, forming the backbone of Ted's lesson to his kids on how to "turn a no into a yes". Ew.
