How I Met Your Mother: 10 Greatest Fantasy Sequences
1. Nothing Suits Me Like A Suit
This is by far the most well-constructed musical sequence in the show, utilizing the amazing vocal talents of Neil Patrick Harris. The energetic dancing, the costuming, and even the way that it is shot show us just how to properly create a pseudo-Broadway number.
It all starts with Barney trying to seduce a woman that only goes out with men who don’t wear suits because she sees men in suits as being rude, misogynistic people. He decides that in order to sleep with her, he must suit down for the first time in years.
This leads us into a dream sequence where every single character is wearing a suit, including the rest of the gang, the background dancers, and even some babies he passes on the street. The song itself is extremely catchy, with a tune that gets stuck in your head almost instantly.
On top of this, Harris has a fantastic voice, as most of us know from his Tony award and his Grammy nominations. This makes for an amazing performance, along with strong dancers in the background, and very energetic choreography for everyone in the cast to participate in.
For the show to take so much time and effort to relay the emotions that he feels towards suits in a musical format is something that is unmatched in any other television series.
