2. Ted Had Died

Think about it. The kids are sitting on a couch, they are just listening and there's really no interactions with future Ted. Maybe it's a video of Ted that is being played and they are watching it shortly after he has passed. Also, the show in eight years has never referenced Saget at all, whether it be in the credits or anywhere, not once. Of course, we all assume that Saget is the future Ted, even though Josh Radnor and Saget sound nothing alike and why would Radnor all of a sudden turn his voice into Sagets? Maybe Saget is not the future Ted, and he's someone on a television reading to the kids about the story of Ted and his future wife. Plus, in the episode of "The Time Travelers, Ted mentions himself saying at the end of his speech, "To the end of my days, and beyond." Does beyond mean that he's really gone, but he'll always be there in spirit, loving his wife and kids? It very well could be. Or.....
