How I Met Your Mother: How It Should Be Re-Cast In 2021

Eugene Cordero has become a frequent guest star throughout many series. He’s made appearances in the likes of The Mandalorian, Loki, and The Good Place, as Jason Mendoza’s Florida friend Pillboi.

Especially as Pillboi, Cordero conveys an air of lovability and goofiness around him. Though only a guest role in The Good Place, Pillboi makes a huge splash as a friend to Jason, and constantly pulls off hilarious one liners that seem like they were written specifically for Cordero. As such, he would make an excellent Marshall Eriksen.

Played by Jason Segel, Marshall is one of the funniest parts of How I Met Your Mother. His random interjections, hilarious habit of singing whatever he does, and love of food all feel well within Cordero's wheelhouse. Additionally, the best part of Marshall is just how sweet he is. He's a caring friend to everyone, especially Ted, and the ultimate sitcom husband to Lily. It would be endlessly fun to watch Cordero pull off Marshall's signature sweetness.
