How I Met Your Mother: How It Should Be Re-Cast In 2021
1. Narrator - Josh Radnor
Who else could possibly play an older Ted Mosby than the original Ted Mosby himself? Josh Radnor gave a great physical performance as Ted for nine seasons, while the narrator Ted who told his children the story of how he met their mother was voiced by Bob Saget.
If HIMYM were remade today, then casting Radnor in Saget's original role would be a perfect full circle moment. This version of Ted would be telling the story for a new Ted to act out.
Even without his connection to Ted, Radnor would make for a great narrator. His voice is soothing and calm, and it's easy to picture him saying something like, "Kids, in the summer of 2013, everyone was in a happy relationship, so there are no interesting stories to tell from that time".
Though it's difficult picturing a new cast after the original HIMYM actors did such a great job, Radnor's appearance as Future Ted would help ease the transition.
